Rita M. Corino recognized for professional excellence in promotion of the pastel medium through the establishment of the Pastel Painters of Bucks County
DOYLESTOWN, PA, Tuesday, October 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rita M. Corino, PSA, CLWAC, Founder, Artist and Teacher with Pastel Painters of Bucks County, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of fine art.
For as long as she can remember, Rita M. Corino has held a passion for the arts. It wasn't until the 1970s, however, that she started to consider herself seriously as a professional artist. After trying her hand at various creative endeavors, she finally fell in love with oil, pastel, photography and painting and began to enter her work into competitions. Today, she is an award-winning artist with over 40 years of experience. Now thriving in her fourth year as founder of the Pastel Painters of Bucks County, she mentors aspiring artists, instructs them on different art techniques, oversees a weekly critique and manages a comprehensive mentoring program.
Honored as Cambridge Publishing's Professional of the Year in 2010, Ms. Corino has received first place awards and best-in-shows at juried group shows and international corporate exhibitions, and was named best-in-show in the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Exhibition at The National Arts Club and the Salmagundi Club Open Exhibition in New York City. She is currently working on the research and development of a pastel and painting product while she continues teaching, performing commission work and writing about her profession. To date, she credits her success to her ability to help her students succeed.
Ms. Corino holds a bachelor of science in nursing from Seton Hall University and was the recipient of a one-year scholarship award to the Art Student League, given by the Pastel Society of America. An active member of her community, she is the former president and a life member of the Millburn Short Hills Art Center, a member of The National Arts Club, a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, and a lifetime member of the Art Students League and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. She also exhibits her work at the PA Reading Public Museum and the Woodmere Museum in Philadelphia, the National Arts Club in NYC, and Women in Arts Museum in Washington, DC. Her poetry has been published and recorded by the International Library of Poetry.
