LateRooms.com - London's Tate Modern Poised to Display Exposed
Anyone who is intrigued by the UK's relationship with surveillance and the idea of the unseen photographer may enjoy Exposed at the Tate Modern.

LONDON, ENGLAND, April 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A fascinating new exhibition is set to be shown at the Tate Modern entitled Exposed - Voyeurism, Surveillance and the Camera, which looks at the history of images captured without explicit permission.

Running from May 28th through to October 3rd 2010, the show is sure to provoke and intrigue visitors as it looks at the way celebrities are continually photographed, as well as concentrating on the surveillance footage that is collected every day in the UK.

More than 250 pieces are on display and items range from the 19th century all the way up to the modern day, with iconic images such as Weegee's photo of Marilyn Munroe being joined by unusual snaps like one of Paris Hilton on her way to prison.

As well as these examples of the "unseen photographer", Exposed aims to confront issues relating to the way UK society appears to have an obsession with privacy and present guests at London hotels with the arguments relating to such ideas.

"The issues raised are particularly relevant in the current climate, with topical debates raging around the rights and desires of individuals, terrorism and the increasing availability and use of surveillance," explained the venue.

Tickets for this show cost GBP10, with travellers able to visit between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00 from Sunday to Thursday and 10:00 and 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

After people have taken a look at the exhibit, they could head outside the Tate Modern to see the work of Martin Karlsson, entitled London - An Imagery.

Laterooms.com recommends the Shaftesbury Kensington hotel.
