KUTA, INDONESIA, February 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A photography exhibition showcasing the Indonesian island of Sumba could interest people using Kuta hotels next month.

Visitors to Bali may already be aware of Sumba, which is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands in the neighbouring province of East Nusa Tenggara.

The CCF Salemba centre in Jakarta is currently hosting an exhibition entitled Earth, Sky and Water, which promises to take attendees on a "visual journey" through the rugged landscape of Sumba.

According to the organisers, the show focuses on the island's "magnificent savannahs" and features a number of "stunning" images.

The exhibition begins on February 23rd and runs until March 7th.

Unlike the resorts of Bali and certain parts of Java, Sumba is rarely visited by western tourists.

However, those who do make the effort to explore the island during their stay in Indonesia will be rewarded with beautiful beaches and a unique cultural experience.

Direct flights are frequently available between the Balinese capital of Denpasar and Waingapu, the largest city on Sumba.

The island's basic infrastructure can make independent travel in the region challenging, but the number of organised tours starting in Bali is increasing, giving more visitors an opportunity to stray off the beaten track.
