J.L. Abbott Honored for Excellence in Photography
J.L. Abbott's Involvement with the Airline Industry Allowed him to Take Pictures All Over the World

MOUNTAIN HOME, AR, October 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ --J.L. Abbott, Owner of Photo by J, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in photography.

An avid lensman from the age of 11, Mr. Abbott has close to seven decades of experience in photography. He is currently the owner and operator of his own studio. Prior to devoting all his time to taking pictures, he worked in the airline industry - 18 years with Frontier Airlines and 12 with Braniff International - during a colorful career that allowed him to travel extensively and, consequently, build a formidable collection of slides and images captured from various countries around the world.

In the course of his career, Mr. Abbott published photographs, sold prints, and saw his work on the covers of two magazines, Exxon Air World and NE Magazine. He also contributed articles to The Pepper Tree and worked as a controller at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, TX for a brief period following his retirement from aviation. He is happy to finally be pursuing his lifelong hobby on a full-time basis. He attributes his success to his curiosity and eagerness to keep learning.

Mr. Abbott received a Dual Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Psychology from Adams State College. He currently serves as publicity chairman of Area Art Club. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and once served his local Kiwanis Club as president. Mr. Abbott, who recently celebrated his 81st birthday, looks forward to continuing to write and take photographs.
